BASSE TERRE MARKETS (LOWLANDS) Petit-Bourg market The Jaden péyi Ti-Bou farmers’ market offers numerous delightful Créole specialities, such as fruit, vegetables and crafts. Market days: Friday 3pm – 10pm Location: facing Viard beach on the Montebello roundabout parking lot. Goyave market A wide selection of local products is on display, especially fruit and vegetables, fish or crafts. Market days: every first Friday of the month 4pm - midnight Location: On the fishing port Baillif market The Mornes market is organised by Adarsub, a not for profit organisation. The stalls typically display all the colours and flavours of Guadeloupe with the fruit, vegetables, fish and cassava on sale. Market days: Friday 4pm – 10pm Location: On the little square facing the Père Labat tower Basse Terre market One of the most appreciated on the island! The atmosphere is friendly and relaxed and tourists are not pushed to make purchases but can instead enjoy the colourful, aromatic experience. Everything is available: fruit, vegetables, spices, rum and punch as well as plants and flowers, local baskets, crafts, meat, and fresh fish at the sea front, straight from the boats. Market day: every day except Sunday, from 6am onwards. Saturday is the best day as there are more stalls. Location: under the semi-covered market halls, next to the bus station, facing the sea front. Bouillante Fruit, vegetables and local crafts are sold in a Créole atmosphere of exotic flavour and colour. Market days: every morning, the night market is every second Friday of the month 4pm – 9pm Location: On the square, just next to the stadium and behind the Total petrol station. The night market is on the Raymond Guillod stadium parking lot. Basse Terre north itinerant market The Pointe-Noire, Deshaies, Sainte-Rose, Lamentin and Petit-Bourg itinerant market services all five towns. Market days: every second Saturday of the month Location: Pointe-Noire, Deshaies, Sainte-Rose, Lamentin and Petit-Bourg. Baie-Mahault market Organic marked, organised by Gda Eco Bio (Groupement de développement de l’agriculture écologique et biologique de la Guadeloupe/ Group for the development of ecological and organic agriculture in Guadeloupe). Market days: Wednesday 1pm – 5pm Location: the old chamber of agriculture, behind RFO. .
